DKP System and Rules (submitted by bogdan at 11:54am EDT)

2. DKP site - This one

We will start using DKP to help us decide who gets what on certain items (although all items will cost points).

This system was invented by me, aka you won't see it anywhere else, unless I wasn't that creative. The system is a bit complicated at start but read everything and then see if you have any questions. This system will combine both FIXED value DKP and BIDDING DKP in an attempt to eliminate inflation and make it more fair to everyone.

Some basic info about the system. I will then take each point and explain it in detail.

1. Tier items will be worth a DKP value (fixed) and all other items will start at a certain DKP value (and can possibly go up). More details below.
2. Some items will be awarded by default to a ceratin player, such as tanking gear or tier items. I will explain this later into more details.
3. Depending on the boss we are killing certain "ranks" may not be allowed to bid on an item that drops (eg: initiates on let's say Lady Vashj loot). More explained later on.
4. Bidding on items just to increase the ammount a player spends will be dealt with accordingly. Again more details below.

1.Tier items will be worth a DKP value (fixed) and all other items will start at a certain DKP value (and can possibly go up).

Click this link and see the values items can get per boss/instance.
You will see that TIER items have a fixed value, which means that if you win that item that's what you pay for it. There will be NO bidding on tier items. Tier items will be distributed by the Loot Council either by vote or by highest avaialable DKP.
You will see that for both armor and weapons you have a START and an END. That means that the value for the item starts at X, and if there is just one bidder he gets it for that value. But if more than 1 person wants it they can start bidding in increments of 1 or more. The END signifies that an item can not go above that value. The trick comes here, if 2 or more players reach the END in bids (meaning they both have the highest bid allowed on a certain item) they will enter a round of SILENT bidding. They will send their bid to the raiding leader and the max bid will be 2x the END bid. If two or more players still have the max bid we will enter a second round of silent bidding and the max becomes 4x the end and so on. After the first round of silent bidding we will not disclose the people that are tied, we will just let you know to make a further bid if two or more are tied. This way we will try to prevent other people jacking the prices up.

YOU CAN ONLY BID AN AMMOUNT LESS OR EQUAL TO YOUR TOTAL AVAILABLE DKP.

2.Some items will be awarded by default to a ceratin player, such as tanking gear or tier items.

Main tanks will always be geared first regardless of the items that drop. If they are an improvement it goes to the main tanks in order (so from MT to OT1 to OT2). Usually we will only gear 2 to 4 tanks. Because for Tier 4 and 5 we share our items with Priests and Druids these 2 classes will have priority on certain equivalent items. Example: Let's say T5 pants drop, and the tanks pick up the first few pairs and then let's say a Dmg/heal Pant drops then Shadow priests will have priority first (since mages/locks can get their Tier 4 without passing to anyone) - although this will be situational, and decided on the spot.

3.Depending on the boss we are killing certain "ranks" may not be allowed to bid on an item that drops (eg: initiates on let's say Lady Vashj loot).

Initiates will be allowed to collect DKP but they are not allowed to go on items where full time members go in for (unless we consider that the full time members have better items and that the item would benefit the guild more if it went to the initiate).

4.Bidding on items just to increase the ammount a player spends will be dealt with accordingly.

This point is very important. If we feel that you are bidding on an item just to increase the ammount that one player pays your bid will be removed and the DKP you bid will be removed. So you lose the DKP value you were trying to impose on the other player.
Of course we can't always tell when someone is doing this but we will try our best.

If we feel that you are trying to cheat the system in any way you will be dealt with accordingly so let's try and keep it fair for everyone. And of course let's try it to make it fun to PvE again.
This is an innovative system which means things are prone to change and will change as we see fit.http://http://
